An Artist Residency at Hideout Mountain
Artists in the Woods is a small, immersive residency created for artists who want to step away from the noise and reconnect with their creative process in nature.
Set in the quiet hills of Santa Ysabel, Hideout Mountain welcomes a select group of artists to spend several days living, creating, and sharing ideas in a peaceful woodland environment overlooking Lake Henshaw. Surrounded by oak trees, open skies, and the rhythms of the land, the residency offers the time and space to focus deeply on artistic work.
During the residency, each artist is invited to develop a piece inspired by the landscape and the experience of being at Hideout Mountain. The program encourages experimentation, collaboration, and meaningful exchange between participants.
Artists stay together on the property, share meals, and participate in informal conversations, creative sessions, and outdoor activities. The residency is open to creators working with physical mediums such as painting, sculpture, installation, woodworking, and other site-specific interventions.
By the end of the program, each artist leaves behind a piece created during their stay, becoming part of the growing creative story of Hideout Mountain.
Artists in the Woods is not only a residency. It is a moment of pause, exploration, and connection between art, landscape, and community.
