In September 2025 we hosted our very first Artists in the Woods Residency and it was truly magical.
Seven incredible artists spent a week creating site-specific installations around the mountain, connecting with nature, sharing meals, and inspiring each other.
We kicked off the week with a talk by biologist Scott Tremor from San Diego Natural History Museum, learning about the local wildlife of Warner Valley. Throughout the week, the artists explored the land, worked on their pieces, and even visited California Wolf Center for a special sketching session with wolves 🐺.

Over the following days, we visited Ilan-Lael Foundation, home and studio of James Hubbell, where we got inspired by his lifetime of work, and stopped by Santa Ysabel Art Gallery to meet local artists and curators. We also spent a morning sketching wolves at California Wolf Center — a truly unforgettable experience.
